Asafoetida (Ferula foetida) is used for repelling evil, reversing and jinxing enemies.
Asafoetida, also known as Devil's Dung, is a foul-smelling herb used to repel negativity.
Some ideas for magical uses:
Burn a pinch on a charcoal to clear negative people, spirits and energies from a space.
Carry a pinch in a red flannel bag to keep the law away (though the smell will probably keep everyone away).
Dress a black figural candle with Banishing oil and roll it in Asafoetida to get someone out of your life for good.
(Asafoetida is generally safe to ingest in small quantities but should be avoided by pregnant women and infants - it is common sense to research any herb before ingesting.)
For in-depth information on how to use this and other herbs and roots magically, I recommend Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic and Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, both of which can be found in our Books section.
